Safeguarding

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

At Durley CE Primary School the health, safety and well-being of every child is our top priority.

We make every effort to provide a safe and welcoming environment underpinned by a culture of openness where both children and adults feel secure, able to talk and believe that they are being listened to. We maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here’ where safeguarding is concerned. We also ensure children learn across the curriculum how to keep themselves and each other safe from relevant risks. We have active links with other organisations and through our assemblies and school curriculum we promote Childline 0800 1111.  Please visit the Safeguarding section of our website for more details.

The purpose of our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies, Procedures and Guidance is to provide staff, volunteers and governors with the framework they need in order to keep children safe and secure in our school and to inform parents and guardians how we will safeguard their children whilst they are in our care, as explained by DfE in the document Keeping Children Safe in Education (Sept 2019). Specific guidance is available to staff within the policy and procedure documents as well as separate safeguarding information for visitors/ volunteers.

All Safeguarding  Policies can be found under the Governor – Policy section

As part of Durley Primary School’s commitment to safeguarding and child protection we fully support the Government’s Prevent Strategy, which means we have a responsibility to protect children from extremist and violent views through our teaching of British values, tolerance and mutual respect.
